Pax West Retrospective

We have returned from PAX West, which was an incredible time Rogue Labyrinth!

During PAX, we showcased Rogue Labyrinth at the INDIE SIX alongside a couple dozen amazing indie games. It was a grueling 10+ hour event, and we set up 2 demo stations that had a line pretty much the whole time.

Indie Six took great care of us. We had no clue how accommodating it would be! From the moment of pulling up to the event, people were waiting to help us set up, giving us equipment to use, and handing out food. At one point, John told the host "there's too much positive feedback I need someone to tell me something BAD about the game." And the host went off and found some real good QA testers to rip the game apart. It was great.

Response to the game was way better than expected. We had everything from journalists, content creators, to publishers talk to us, and it led us to the hard decision: Rogue Labyrinth is going to need a proper release. And that means delaying.

Initially, we planned on this game to be more modest. We'd try to get into some events, but otherwise ride the game out and see what happens with no real consequence.

PAX made us change our mind. It just makes sense for us to go the longer route.

Unfortunately, there will be no Kickstarter or Early Access in 2023. We'll need a few months to gauge our prospects and make decisions. However, we WILL be releasing the:

Rogue Labyrinth Demo!

It'll be out in a few weeks, and is designed for people to experience up to a couple hours of content! We are hoping this will help expand outreach and build community as well.

For now, we must rest. This is more talking with people in person than we have done in years.

Thank you all for your support!

John Bond
