V.4 mid-update
Hey all, it's John Bond! I'm the game developer in charge of programming, most the pixel art, and a lot of the design to Rogue Labyrinth.
In a couple weeks, V.45 will be done. This will be a pretty big deal of a patch, as that will be when we switch from making game features into filling out the game itself.
There's a lot of changes and I think we'll be at the point of calling the game in "alpha" as I don't think there'll be any more big changes to add or change regarding the game mechanics. Mostly it will just be adding in more rooms, monsters, bosses, dialogues, art, lighting effects, new powers... Well there's still a lot to do, but all these things are at least a bit more minor than what the previous patches have been, and a lot on the to-do list coming up will make the game a lot more impressive to look at, which can be a great help for marketing.
There are some things still up in the air for how involved we can afford to make, such as adding room customization or minigames. We are considering avenues of investment, like crowdfunding, to more safely make sure the game ends up as full as can be. A lot is still up in the air though.
We are still continuing our once a month patch updates, so in mid June, expect a devlog about all the new features in the game! But as a spoiler: yes, you can pet the frogs.
