Dream Knight: what's going to happen to this gamejam game?

I've been seeing this page get a lot more traction recently and I have no clue why, but I thought I would explain a bit what's going on with the game.

The short answer is, I never thought this game did well enough to grab interest so I didn't think to continue with the game. Then, I started work on Rogue Labyrinth (https://kaimatten.itch.io/rogue-labyrinth).

The long answer is: When making Dream Knight, it was a gamejam game made with the "Dreams and Nightmares" theme. It was to have a focus on boss battles as part of the gamejam, and I wanted something that had dialogue and smooth movement. I had only made 2 games before - witch themed platformers. One was a gamejam game, and the other a gameboy game made with GB Studio.

I thought about making Dream Knight a bigger, full game and to start releasing games every few months with a Dreams or Witch theme, as those are two series of games I have been wanting to make. However, I started making Rogue Labyrinth, and that's what I've been doing ever since.

Rogue Labyrinth is going to be released on Steam, although I do post occasional updates on its own itch page. It sort of is partially what Dream Knight was to be, as I frankensteined Dream Knight as the basis of Rogue Labyrinth's combat and dialogue system. So really, this little gamejam game is how this much larger game came to be.

I may eventually go back to a series about Dream Games, but I'm thinking if I do they won't have an "action" flair to them, but be a lot more general "RPG" ish.

Thanks everyone who has played this game. It's the third game I tried to make, and it is definitely still pretty rough, but I love having people experience my creations. For now, I'll see you over at Rogue Labyrinth (And Delia: The Traveling Witch will have more news too!)
