Version .2c - Bugfixing + Fishing Minigame


Fully back into development! I'm pretty confident I'll finish this up this month, too.

There still will be 8 stages, and I'm working on Stage 3 right now which introduces new SCHMUP mechanics to the game.

I've also fixed up some lagging issues, and also put together a more or less working fishing minigame to allow players to top off on life if they can get those prized fish.

I wasn't initially planning on having so many game-modes, but I've been having good fun with this all and want to keep up experimenting with different things to learn. This probably is going to be the end of new features, aside from a couple minor gimmicks later on, so hopefully the rest of the stages are pretty smooth sailing. It should mostly just be design and art until the end.

One things I have realized is most likely I can not put in ANY music. Not only does it ruin sound effects in the game, but the music writing within GBStudio is... Not ideal, at least for my style. I also can't just write any sort of piece and put it in, even with the gameboy limitations. So unfortunately, I'll probably avoid any music and just suggest people play their own music in the background, haha.


EDIT: There's an error that I can't fix about the 2nd boss. It works in testing, but doesn't work when playing the full game in browser. I have... No clue what's happening, so I'm just going to ignore it for now. The boss is beatable, just way easier than intended because certain hit boxes don't seem to be created.
