Delia: The Traveling Witch
Delia and her Glowing Pig Bao are now in Glutinous Kingdom. After receiving a request to cure a sick child, they are wrapped in an adventure that spans the whole magical land!
Delia: The Traveling Witch is an Action Platformer with lots of talking NPC's and locations to jump around in. It has a minor Schmup section to it as well.
This game is being built over the course of 12+ weeks. It is being built within GBStudio, and through a solo game developer, Kaimatten.
The game has 60-120 minutes of content. It can be played in Browser or by downloading the Rom.
The game is made to be built for a Gameboy, and thus has all the limitations of a Gameboy Color. Expect to experience 90's finicky-ness.
CONTROLS:
ARROWS = Move
Z = Jump/Interact
X = Shoot/Cancel
ENTER = Pause
For purchase there is available the project folder, which shows how each level was made, and gives access to the art assets (Creative Commons 4.0 - John Bond/Kaimatten). The Downloadable version is for GBStudio 3, and will NOT work in GBStudio 4.0.

Very cute game, I really dug all the cut scenes
I feel like this is a stupid question but i'm new to fan games. When i add this game to my everdrive GB, what do i do with all the other files? like the .map, .sav, .ihx files etc? do they all go together or do i patch them together or ignore? Any help is greatly appreciated!! <3
This isn't a fan game of anything, so I'm unsure if you're posting in the right place?
If you are wanting to run Delia: The Traveling Witch, it'd be good to know what file you are trying to run. If you downloaded the ROM you should emulate that like you would other gameboy roms - Visualboy is a really light emulator you can download. At that point you just run the .gb file within Visualboy (or whatever emulator you are using)
If you downloaded the WEB version, you run that through your browser, like Chrome or Firefox. You can also play the version that's on this page!
sorry i must've used the term incorrectly! I'm playing on an authentic gameboy color using an everdrive cartridge. Thank you for the help :) i'm guessing it must be the same as an emulator and you only use the .gb file
this game is so charming!!! loved it!! i had an issue with the fights because the control keys where in inconvenient places and having long nails made it 100 times more difficult, but i managed :')
For something made in GBStudio, this is really frickin' good! The humour is right up my alley. I did struggle a bit on some levels and fights (Mira's fights and the final battle with Dango were the toughest imo) but I eventually pulled through and beat the game. Good job!
nice game. good job
just beat your game. LOVE IT! so cute and inspiring. the flying segments are so cool. super unfrusterating and good timey bosses. great job!
Your game is super cute and fun! I bought the project folder to study it. I love the idea of an RPG platformer game.
The Game is very cute =) I love it
I love this game! However I think it would be great if there were an enemy healthbar :b
Wish I could do that, but there's a strict limit to sprites and all possible sprite iterations that can be loaded in memory on the Gameboy, making bars very memory taxing.
I might try to do something to at least make it more obvious when bosses get hurt, though. I'm thinking of doing another update...
This video was the final straw to convince me to make the second Mira fight easier.
How do you defeat the noble demon? I have a bit of trouble with her! PLEASE HELP
Witch weapons do not work against the noble demon, but you can defeat her the same way you destroyed the door leading to her!
thanksthanksthanksthanks
Cute game! Super cute art and the dialogue is really nice. Keep up the awesome work! Diffidently one of my fav games
Thank you so much!
Ofc!
Delia The Traveling Witch Walkthrough
I managed to beat the second Mira fight by pure LUCK , got super lucky with the hits and am grateful to not have to use the ghost anytime soon
Edit: finished the game, it's a good game too.
The only real flaw is the second Mira fight, as it is very hard, but the cutscene after the fight gives context (though not too important) for the plot twist onward.Oh nooo sorry, haha. I'm glad you like it!!
Amazing game, the only thing is I've been experiencing pure Hel when on the second Mira bossfight because of that lightning bolt. It's been tracking exactly, and if i get hit once then it stays on me and continually damages me.
Oh noooo. I think I just designed that boss badly, haha. I can tell you if you just focus on spamming damage on her you'll probably win the race! I believe in you!
I've considered patching the game with a bunch of rebalancing/remaking the game in a modern engine so it's easier to design. However, I've been so busy with other games I haven't thought about this much recently.
Thank you so much for playing!
How would you exactly "spam" damage in that boss fight?
As jumping on her enough to beat her is kinda tight, as I just kinda lucked out.
this looks so good!
Thank you!
I really like this game. Just about everything is enjoyable
There don't seem to be many platformers made with GBStudio around. Always nice to find a really great one! The art is amazingly cute and original and the gameplay is fun!
Only played until the end of the first level for now, but I can tell it's gonna be a good experience :)
What a sweet and adorable game!! I had so much fun playing the initial level and was super excited when the full game came out. Lots of fun with cute dialogue, charming details, and fun levels -- I LOVED the flying levels. Also, the credits are amazing -- watch till the end!!
Made a video
Health bar is in the top left with the heart!
I might look into ways to make it larger - I purposefully made it small to not get in the way/eat up memory, but if it's hard to notice I likely should do something about it.
Looks cool!
